Antique Victorian Carved Stone Diana Cameo Brooch in 14K Gold

This remarkable antique brooch showcases a terracotta-toned carved cameo featuring a classical female figure, believed to depict Diana (Artemis), the Roman goddess of the hunt and moon. Rendered in deep, sculptural relief, the portrait features an elaborate upswept hairstyle, flowing curls, classical drapery, and softly modeled features.

The cameo is carved from a dense, stone-hard terracotta/lava-type material with a matte texture and warm earthy coloration reminiscent of 19th-century Italian carved cameos. The surface shows the natural variation and character expected of an antique, hand-worked piece.
