A beautiful late Victorian ring centered with an elongated natural opal surrounded by tiny seed pearls. The opal is cut as a slender oval cabochon and weighs approximately 0.65 carat, displaying flashes of green and blue with softer touches of color that appear as the stone moves in the light.
Six small seed pearls, each measuring approximately 1.7 mm, are arranged asymmetrically along one side of the opal. Their delicate scale is especially charming against the larger center stone, with darkened recessed details creating additional contrast around the setting.
The goldwork is every bit as interesting as the gemstones. Ornately engraved shoulders extend from either side of the setting with scrolling and foliate details characteristic of late 19th-century jewelry. Viewed from the side, the tall prong setting and decorative gallery reveal even more of the ring's original craftsmanship.
Crafted in 10K yellow gold, the ring weighs 2.50 grams and is currently a size 6.75. The face measures approximately 15.38 × 7.95 mm, giving it an elegant elongated profile on the hand.
