Dating to the Georgian era, this remarkable antique pendant brings together garnet, seed pearls, rose cut diamonds, gold, and silver in an intricate floral design that has survived for approximately two centuries.

At the center is a rectangular faceted garnet weighing approximately 1.45 carats. Its deep wine-red color is framed by delicate gold vines and textured floral elements, each accented with a seed pearl. Surrounding the composition is an openwork silver border set with approximately 0.20 carats of rose cut diamonds.

Rose cut diamonds are particularly beautiful in antique jewelry. Their hand-cut facets produce a softer, more subtle sparkle than modern brilliant cuts, especially in low or candle-like light. Setting diamonds in silver while using gold for the remainder of a jewel was also a technique frequently seen in jewelry of this period.

The pendant retains the irregularities, patina, and hand-finished character expected of a jewel of this age. Rather than appearing perfectly uniform, the individual details reveal the workmanship and long history of the piece.
