This unusual vintage ring features an elongated botanical design set with a colorful combination of natural diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Branch-like forms extend above and below the band, creating an open, asymmetrical silhouette across the finger.
Natural rose-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.12 carat are set along the shoulders and among the branches. The diamonds are joined by pairs of natural rubies, blue sapphires, and emeralds, with each gemstone species totaling approximately 0.07 carat. The mixture of deep blue, green, red, and softly sparkling rose-cut diamonds gives the ring a wonderfully distinctive appearance.
Fine textural detailing follows the branching forms through the center of the ring, while contrasting white-metal settings surround many of the gemstones. The slender yellow gold shank allows the unusual 24 mm long design to remain the focus.
The ring displays characteristics associated with earlier jewelry, including rose-cut diamonds and its naturalistic design. Because its precise age has not been established, we have conservatively classified it as vintage rather than assigning a specific antique period.
