This beautifully preserved antique ring showcases a finely carved black Jasperware cameo set in a substantial 14K gold mount with exquisite hand-pierced filigree shoulders. Dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era (c. 1880–1910), it captures the neoclassical revival style so cherished in the period: elegant, symbolic, and deeply refined.
The cameo features a classical female profile in soft relief, highlighted by the rich black ground typical of high-quality 19th-century Jasperware. Surrounding the cameo is a hand-finished milgrain bezel—subtly irregular, as early jewelers crafted each bead individually. The openwork shoulders are pierced by hand in an intricate botanical pattern, showcasing the artistry and labor-intensive techniques of the era.
